Long ago there were people. But unknown to many there was magic. There was a small group of nomads who discovered this. They used their magic and made themselves half animal, half human. There were eight of them, each had a different animal. Bird, Cat, Dog, Shark, Raccoon, Snake, Spider, and Vampire Bat. Well, time passed and the gene became weaker. Now, of the eight, only one has so strong of genes, to have every generation have it: the vampires. The others, only one child every century has the mutation. The Roans, the group of the vampires, since the death of their mother, have hunted down and killed most of the offspring as they are born. Some they make their allies. They don’t know exactly who the one who will receive their power is, but they receive it when the clock strikes midnight on their thirteenth birthday. There are more children with the gene though not of the eight. These are less powerful but could also hold the balance. Will the children of this generation survive to become more powerful on there eighteenth birthday or will they all fall at the hands of the Roans? You may be the one thing keeping them alive. Or may you be one of the Roans and make them fall?
